About Us:
Alabama Youth Against Violence is a Non-Profit Organization formed by Minister Dwayne Thompson. Which is an
offspring of an Organization called Central City Youth Against Violence. Established by Mr Travis
Lyons and Bernard Hollins 6 years ago to bring awareness and combat the rise in violent crime and murders
in New Orleans , La.
Since the recent natural disaster hurricane Katrina we were given the opportunity to relocate to the wonderful
state of Alabama. Where we have noticed the rise in violent crime, murders and gang activity especially in the
city of Birmingham.
We have a year round agenda to go into the community and school systems to intervene, support,mentor,and
teach conflict resolution to youth between the ages of 7yrs. Of age to 18yrs Of age.
At this time we are not state or federally funded and are asking for the support Of business and community
leaders, clergy and their congregations,corporations, their employees and the citizens Of all the communities
effected by violent crimes.
We need your assistance and support in getting school uniforms,transportation for field trips, and seminars in
our schools and communities to educate and impart a renewed way of thinking into them.
